UNITE is an international festival celebrating the space between sports and creativity. In May, 2020, in partnership with the Tokyo Olympics, UNITE will bring some of the world’s leading creatives and athletes to Japan, presenting their ideas on how sports and creativity are changing the modern world.

The visual identity and logo for UNITE @Tokyo 2020 celebrates the intersection of sport and creativity, reflecting the conversation between the two constantly evolving forces.

With sustainability and the center of all design thinking, the graphic system created heavily involved the use of monitors and projections in place of traditional, wasteful wayfinding signage methods. This consideration was not limiting, but rather opened up a world of possibilities allowing the conception of a fluid identity that could evolve to reflec the speakers, themes and ideas presented at the two day conference.
